Privacy Policy — PlantPal

Last updated: March 12, 2026

PlantPal is a plant care and identification app developed by Justin Bundrick / BunjiSolutions. Your privacy matters. Here's exactly what we do and don't do with your data.

Data We Collect

Data Stored On Your Device

All of this data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you enable iCloud, your data syncs across your Apple devices via Apple's CloudKit — we never see or access your iCloud data.

Plant Identification

When you use the plant identification or health diagnosis feature, your plant photo is sent to Plant.id (a third-party service by Kindwise) for analysis. The photo is transmitted securely over HTTPS and is used solely for identification purposes. We do not store your photos on any server. Please review Plant.id's privacy policy for their data handling practices.

Camera and Photo Library

PlantPal requests camera access for plant identification and the light meter feature. Photo library access is used for importing plant photos. These permissions are used only for the stated purposes and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Subscriptions

PlantPal Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. Payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings at any time.

Children's Privacy

PlantPal does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or personal information to use.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
